Cat Back

Hey, I'm looking for a good cat back system that will also pass emissions. Nothing too special or expensive. Any suggestions?

I believe most cat-backs should pass if you leave the stock y-pipe and cat alone

You may want to check your state laws before changing it however. I just found out my state passed a "no aftermarket exhaust" law. Anything non-OEM fails at the inspection station even though it always passed emissions.

Man that must totally suck to live in your state, where ever that is (where is that btw?). I'm planning on doing the cattman b-pipes with greddy cattbacks and i'm glad i live in NY with no such ridiculous laws .

^^^^ yeah we are lucky but keep in mind if your a young driver like me and they see you with a modified exhaust they give tickets for it being too loud. they try to get my boy for it but luckily for him he had a certificate sayiin his exhaust is under 91 db so he got away but some cops dont care. good luck tho.

stock replacement is way overpriced!!!! christ, the y-pipe is 750.00 plus tax!!!! and i dont know of an aftermarket that's got pre-cats and looks/sounds like a max y. i went with a warpspeed and i hate the frickin thing, especially the cattback ( pacesetter) which was supposed to sound like stock (bs)!!!! frickiin mid-pipe doesnt have enough clearance so it bangs on the back axle and vibrates underneath the body like hell!!! anyone know of a nice sounding muffler i could adapt to the pacestter mid-pipe that would not be loud as $ ****???!!!!??!

Use a stock Maxima muffler or cut that pacesetter resonator out and replace it with a larger glasspack or resonator from ZZ performance
click on the exhaust tab! You can also jack up your car and see if there are any adjustment you can make....that is a slip/fit/ u-clamp setup! Most people don't install the Pacesetter properly there are alotof adjustments you can make. Or just take it to a Good muffler shop they'll make the necessary adjustments!

Search. We have tons of exhaust info. Stock replace, go to rockauto.com or get one custom made. Get one off a junk car.

Aftermarket, search here too many links on them.
