Every time I do work on my 99 I have bolt heads snap off. Does anyone else experience this?

I did my front brakes this weekend and 4 of the 8 bolts snapped off 2 on the passenger side caliper bracket and 2 on the drivers side. I used PB blaster every time and let it sit and the bolts always snap. I have snapped bolts on my exhaust my exhaust my suspension even the small 10mm bolts/ screws that hold the fog lights snap on me.

I have worked on old cars before and it's never been this bad is there any trick to getting them off.

 

Heat is your friend. I go in and hit them with pb blaster for 2-3 days before about every day. Then I hit it and if it doesn't budge I heat it and go at it again.

 

Yeah I can relate to that. I can't tell you how many little bolts and screws we have replaced in my car over the last few years. I swear they come pre rusted with the car. My dad works on cars and he has even seen newer 2002, 2003 Nissan's come in with really crappy bolts that just get stripped, break off and need to be replaced

 

i was chnging my brakes i snaped 2 off after i jus grabed a torch and i heated the rest up and they jus came right off

 

Be sure that you have the socket and breaker bar on as straight as possible too. Also you weren't using a rigged cheater bar where you? You have to be careful which those because you might apply to much force on the head. Heat FTW.

 

Do you use a torque wrench when re-installing everything? Anti-sieze when required?
