Owned my Max for 2 years. Now stuff starting to go. =[...And ? suspension issue

argh... This has been fun on my wallet. IT was just her birthday for me owning it August 9th. Sure it could be worse but my max is one of the most mint one around here and everyone knows I take care of her, but with my wallet so low on rent, I feel bad for her having to deal with the broken **** on it...

Other problems just seem to be coming out of the woodworks on my car. argh.. I miss when I had my car for the first year, it was flawless. lol Now I got to get 2 new Axles, brake problems, Need a new clutch(factory obv) Car almost died randomly on me yesterday Don't have a clue what it was. (as if I was not giving it gas while engaging the clutch type dying) EGR is throwin a code, Knock sensor already replaced that. AC clutch, List goes on and on... I think that is with everycar though at about 10 years. Car get 21MPG which sucks....

And to top it off, I noticed a kinda noticeable click thunk sound when I launch or let go of the gas in first. Its like a suspension issue, but I im not sure what it is. Its either a Torsion bar, or possibly a Stabilizer link, Can't be the springs or Motor mounts. And I doubt it is is the axles eventhough those are clicking on turns and braking.

I love my max and its so mint, besides these issues, its just heartbreaking on me and my wallet... It hurts so much that sometimes I just hate to drive my car because I feel like its turning into a nice mint looking piece of ****...lol and the clicks are so embarrassing when ur turning by girls and ppl, but I can't afford or have the time replace them now.

... actually doesnt sound like you have serious problems (except for it almost dieing, MAF maybe) if you can make some time to address them. When exactly does it click? When you shift gears even when the car is moving or only when you moving?

Egr is an easy fix with a $3 can of Carb/intake cleaner and elbow grease. Do a quick search. Once you fix that your MPG will improve slightly. 21 mpg is actually really good for 4th gen. Do you have any other codes?

Might not be serious problems but still costing $, and a lot of time, even if he is doing it himself. Look at it this way, do you want to repair these items? or do you want to sell the car? How are you gonna sell it, and how much do you think you can get for it as it is?

I am going fix this stuff before I sell it, I can't afford another car right now and she starts everyday for me and has been running great except for the almost dying thing yesterday. My max looks just like urs with the exception of the grill and rims. in ur pic... LOL... Like identical. Anyway, Its got high miles on it and I prob put about 2-3k in mods in her. I would like to see decent amount because of the mint leather but she does have some 10year old scratches on the body but the paint is flawless. MY next car is gonna be a G35c I hope anyway and thats not for a while...

and yes, I do all the work myself with teh exception of the clutch which I only did twice in my life in liek school. I don't have the tools or experience to pop one in myself on it. So I am going to someone from the .org as soon as I get the cash.

Baiscally when say your in first gear. You hit it a little bit, not hard to about 3-3.5k and then let go of the gas. I hear the small click sound there. It almost sounds like a broken spring, but I check the springs and they seemed fine. I just can't get the car on a lift yet to check everything. I will do that as soon as I can get the chance.

im kinda confused as to people who think our cars get terrible gas mileage... i get 22-23 mixed driving and thats what is expected from a maxima... its a full size sedan with a V6... not hatchback with a 4... if you want better gas go get a sentra or a prius or something... they are both very nice cars...

Your MPG has more to do with your right foot than anything else.
26mpg is 100% highway, a number which can easily be surpassed with just a bit of thought.
