Right out of the owner's manual....

Replace after 60,000 miles or 48 months, inspect every 15,000 or 12 months.

Now go check your belts (as the previous owner may have replaced them) and report back on their condition.

You can definitely trust this person who gave you excellent advice not to worry about timing belts. Not only do they `rarely' go, it's safe to say they NEVER go.

(because they're not even there in the first place, of course)

Your max has a timing chain, not a belt. Should last the life of the car.

i could be wrong but owners manual does say 60k miles or 48 months but i think its better to see if theyre worn or are missing chunks bigger than 1/2 and inch is really bad and asking for breakdown. I just replaced mine last week. bought at napa made by gates or something like that anyways they have lifetime warranty so the guy told me if anything goes bad just bring them back and get new ones...same time for my axles/driveshaft.

hope it helped
