Injector problems
Injector problems
I just had #5 injector replaced about a month ago and now I need #3 injector replaced. I'm having my mechanic replace both #3 and #1 injectors since they are located under the intake manifold and it's a PIA to remove. Has anyone tried getting the injectors professionally cleaned when the car starts running rough? If so, does it work or is it a waste of money? What is causing my injectors to fail? They don't have any moving parts!!

Yes they do
You can get them cleaned and flow tested. Worth the $$ ? Up to you.
Try some Techron, use a high detergent fuel such as Shell.
Marvel Mystery Oil might help lubricate them too.

You can have injectors cleaned for $16 a piece at Deatschwerks. Not sure what you guys are paying for new injectors but it might be worth thinking about.

The first time you remove the intake manifold those rear bolts are definitely a pain in the butt so I can understand that if you're not one who generally works on your car then you might end up paying a mechanic a couple hours of labor to remove your injectors for cleaning. Really though, if you have basic tools (wrenches or sockets) you can get it done, the hardest part is just getting your hands back there behind the manifold, getting the wrench on those two bolts, and finding an angle that you can get enough leverage to break those bolts loose.
