ES mounts, ES bushings, VLSD tranny, and all the other mods over the years did nothing to change the engagement.
I know, now you know why I am so fed up...I am ready to just pull it regardless and put something else in.

Man that vidoe is NUTS.

Ive had some chattering clutches over the years, and still get a bit of chatter out of mine now, but that is like 10 times worse then mine has ever been. I wouldnt drive the dam* car.

Have a shop look at your mounts man

I bet once you pull it apart, you will see your pressure plate and flywheel are burnt.
There is something wrong with your clutch that is internal.

I know, I just don't see how it can go from normal to this overnight. My mounts checked to be good too...

I hate driving it right now to be quite honest with you...I have been crazy with the semester starting again and havent had a chance to call Exedy yet. Maybe when I get out of class today.

I think so too...as it has been doing this since 0 miles and Day 1.

You're upset, and rightfully so, but I see Exedy getting a bad wrap in this thread. It could be Exedy's fault, but maybe it's not.

Hopefully you can afford to take it to a professional transmission shop, have them take it apart/examine everything, then give a clear explanation of what is going on/what happened. This will provide a very objective review/analysis.

Best of luck to you.

Just want to share my experience.

I had a similar chatter when I had my clutch replaced with some generic OEM replacement after my transmission went down (couldn't afford exedy after spending ~$1k for the new tranny). Anyhow, I had to engage the clutch at above 2K in the 1st gear to avoid this chatter. The chatter went almost completely away when I replaced all O2 sensors and the KS. So, I think my Maxima just didn't have enough power to start off below 2K.

It's like when you start from a stop on a manual tranny car and you don't give enough gas (Remember those days when you were learning to drive?). Any car would chatter and then die. I think that was the issue in my case.

No.

If you don't give it enough gas the engine dips below the idle rpm and will shake because it's not designed to be run at that rpm. This is not clutch chatter, that is bad driving.

yeah that philosophy was fail.

As an update I have a new rear ES motor mount insert headed my way so I will get it installed asap and report any differences. Ever since I went back to stock suspension stuff like that has been alot more mild but I do still get it. I also noticed a good amount of creaking today from the engine bay as I was pressing the clutch pedal repeatedly. It wasnt the pedal itself which squeaks all the time, it was something under the hood.

Upon removal of my motor mounts it was immediately clear that they were completely shot. I couldn't see this with the mounts in the car because they simply cracked around the center bolt pin and like two connected puzzle pieces, appeared to be whole. Anyway, neither the front NOR the rear mount center pins were even attached to the rest of the surrounding rubber, they had minimal play but enough to cause all these problems I've been having I'm sure.
I'll report back with more later, my advice is that you thoroughly check your motor mounts OP...

report edit- The car feels MUCH better. At a stop I can release the clutch (without giving gas) and the CAR moves rather than the motor in the engine bay. The front one is still shot so I'm being lenient in my review but it is definitely improved and I'm excited. I was surprised the second i backed out of my garage and instead of the jolting I normally get it drove out very smoothly and didn't take excessive revving or anything.

i know people have already sed this, but i'm gettin a stage 1 excedy and the flywheel makes the difference. i wanna change mine out badly. but the money for the clutch and labor r killing me. if u go with a stage 2, i would have definetly went with a different flywheel. so it could handle the new load. plus if ur doin forced induction a lighter flywheel would help. it will grab alot smoother, and u don't have to worry bout building it up when u do the turbo/Superchager. that's jus my 2cents.
