Starting Probs When Cold

hey guys
im looking for some help here with my car because im not looking to spend too much money.. when my car is cold and i come to start it up in the morning it takes a while for it to start i have to keep holding the key fof about a min or so, than it sometimes backfires, than it starts.
when it does start the rpm goes high and than it drops down quickly (only one time) as if the car is gonna shut off and than it goes back to normal which is over 1000 rpm than works its way down as the car gets warm.
this only happens when i come to start the car in the morning.
other than that the rest of the day the car is absolutely fine...

any ideas?
starter crank sensor?
idk
help...
thanks guys

Do you literally mean a minute?

Anyway, any codes?

Have you grounded the starter?

Have you followed any of the recommendations from any of the starting threads in this forum?

Same sort of thing happens to my car...I have to hold the key down for a bit and hear it tryign to crank a couple of times before it actually starts up...But then throughout the day it starts up like a beauty. I believe this is all normal.

Coolant temp sensor? I mean there is it right there. It senses coolant temperatures. Could not be working right? Give that a shot big man.

Liek the XXX post of this, but no answers!

I have the same problem, but only when it's medium cold, I mean -5 to 0 celcius.

At -20 ,-35 celcuis the car start fine. Weird

Keep us update.
