broke off a bolt in the Intake Mani

I was pulling my coil packs to clean them (which seems to have stopped my missing) and when they went back on... i snapped a bolt off. I tried to use a bit extractor but i guess it is really over torqued. The extractor bit snapped off inside of the pilot drilled hole in the bolt. Now i'm back to square one.

Does anyone have any ideas? It seems that there is no way to extract the bit extractor. I've gone after it w/a drill bit for about 2 mintues and i got nothing.

Any meat on the peice sticking out to grab it with a wrench ?

Without seeing it, its hard to give any advice. You may have to drill and tap

Can you get a picutre?? I dont fully understand what your saying, is it actuall "In" the intake, or is it just like screwed in, not actually "In".

Was that one of the small bolts that hold the coil pack down that you broke?
If so, there's two of them holding the coil pack in place. I'd live with just the one
holding it and forgetabout the one that snapped.

Just drill and tap the thing and forget about it. I did the same thing to my Blazer and just ended up replacing the whole intake manifold. Just remember the tap is not a drill you go in and out. I broke off one of my titanium taps doing it that way.

Sounds like he just broke the head off of one of the 2 coilpack bolts. Probably not inside the intake manifold at all but just stuck in the threaded part without any slack to grab it. As NJ previously stated, just leave the **** in there and stick with the one bolt. You should be fine.

That's exactly what I was gonna say. Those bolts should be hand tightened too, no need to go nuts on them.

I have a drilled/hollow bolt w/a screw extractor dye broken off inside of it. I think i'll just leave it since the coil seems to be sitting flush.
