New 55w/100w 9004 bulbs? wiring Q?

So one of my bulbs went out on me and I got these 55/100 off the internet.
My question is if I have to change the wiring because of the higher watts?
I am thinking that the 55w low beam will be fine but am not sure about the 100w high beam.

thanks in advance to all that help!

You should be fine, assuming you're not running your high beams constantly all the time. Don't up the fuse size, it's a specific amperage rating for a reason.

If you're concerned about it, leave the high beams on for a while and feel the harness. If it's hot, then get a relay and new wiring.

These days I only drive in town so I never really use the high beam. I have made longer trips before and I have used the high beam for longer periods of time (an hour or more).

you guys are fast. pmohr is the man! every time I have a question he is the one to give me the best answers.

I've got higher wattage bulbs, 100% fine with the stock harness.

Can't argue with you there, Pmohr is the man! I am going to school to train as a mechanic in June, I'll be asking a lot of questions very soon

Funny thing, I was just wondering about this today. My 55w fog bulbs died, so I bought 100w sylvanya H3s. I wonder if the housing melt, due to extra heat?
I guess I'll find out. LOL.

^^^ Dont do it. 100w H3's melted the reflector in my fogs. The reflector peeled right off and made the light useless.

I wouldnt run overwatt 9004 bulbs either.

^Haven't seen any pieces of reflectors yet. It's been 3 days, I have the fogs on all the time even during days. Maybe your fogs were just old

why not just put HID fogs and call it a day?? i'm pretty sure that 100watts is gonna burn something... have you ever felt a 100 watt light bulb after its been on for a while? its basically the same thing..
