What would you do with $2000?
When i first did the swap im not going to lie i was pretty lost. But there was pretty good threads thoughout this forum at the time and so much help i was able to get it done fairly easly. Now i bet i could put it in pretty quick.
here is a site that gives you a overview of the swap. It gives you your options and some reading

step 1: 150 shot, have some fun. blow up the motor.
And or see how much these vq's can really take(im in that process now)
step 2: swap in a 3.5

well hey if your goin to do any suspension mods i would go with coilovers i hear they do pretty good and i have a cousin who put some on his camaro and it was a pretty smooth ride even though the road was pretty messed up. but hey also with coilovers you can change height and i think you can change how hard and soft the springs are. but ya id do coilovers. tein makes some but there pretty expensive. i think theres a company called d1 or something but not sure on the name. they are a pretty good price for a set of 4. also i know you didnt want anything to do with the intake but you can change the filter to be a more high flowing one. it dosent change the sound i dont think (have a short ram intake so ya) but still for a couple bucks it adds some horse power to it.
I would stick with conventional oil, I drive the **** out of mine and change it like every 3,000 to 5,000 miles and during auto X I change it like every 1,600 to 3,000 miles. Just change the oil whenever it will make you happy.
well there is my 4 cents.
Keep on going, you're almost to 15.
Don't post ***** to 15. If you have a question, why don't you just post in the damn newbie thread? That's what it's there for.
By the way, as a newbie, trying to get his 15 message quota so he can post a question about his stereo (this being one of them, of course) I must say I am amazed at some of these post totals I am seeing by peoples names. I saw some with over 20,000. What is going on there? Is that even possible!?

If I had (another) 2K to spend on my car, maybe a nice paint job, I hate the plumb mist with a passion, I thought it was grey lol. Wheels and tires are next on the "bigger items list". Until then (ie. getting money). I'll be doing some smaller/cheaper upgrades. Complete boot custom overall, pics soon on my profile, boot was nasty..strange "mod" place to start...I know. New stereo system incomming due to short in the bose (read clarion) head unit. Subwoofers and stuff. I've spent 2 grand since buying my car lol. Other items bought would be sunroof repair kit and replacement passenger side doors and fender and SE dash trim to replace the GLE.
2K does not last long

One word... four letters... that will make everyone stare at you...
RIMS! Can't find any thing on craigslist that is good enough to last me a year or two while being cheap and be relatively mint, at the same time. I might be asking for too much but what the heck right!? A guy can dream

Heh, that's how much my Maxima was XD.
I would start by getting it checked out by a mechanic and see how much it needs to be fixed BEFORE any modifications to be honest. No sense in buying $2000 worth of parts when your water pump is leaking <_<.

It's well within the bounds of the question, please don't dictate what advice others can or can't give. This is the best advice IMO. While OP might not like it, reality is that $2k is the better part of most 4th gens. He always has the choice not to take the advice as he will do with most advice given here anyway.
