Interior dash lights problem

Hey guys... Ever since I bought my car I've noticed that my auto climate control lights don't turn on. Actually, they've probably randomly turned on like 3 times since I bought the car. The only thing that stays lit up is the screen but the buttons don't light up. The hazard lights button and rear defrost button turns on sometimes as well and the lights indicating what gear shift you're on NEVER turn on (P-R-N-D-L-2-1).

I've checked the fuses and they all seem fine unless I skipped one. What should I check for?

My car is a car theft recovery and the idiots that stole the car completely sliced off all the wiring in the back instead of just unplugging the harnesses. So I had to wire some of the stuff back up in order to get everything working again. So is there a cable I should look out for?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It likely is indeed all in the wiring.

There's no specific 'cable' you should be looking for, just give everything a look over.

Do the lights come on if you shake the dash harness around?

It might be bad connection - some cable might not be soldiered well. Or maybe the plug itself it not put tight on the back

You have checked the dimmer switch, correct?

Have you checked for power at the illumination wire going to the climate control unit?

It happened to me too after I installed Pioneer mp3 player.
I pulled the middle console out and found that some bulbs fell out and some were dead.

I pulled the bulbs out and installed leds inside bulb bases.
