Wheel bearing bad on drivers side..help

my drivers side wheel bearing has gone bad. Not sure to replace bearing or the whole hub? I had a bearing replaced maybe a year and a half ago but dont remember if it was the same one thats gone bad again or if it was the passenger side one. Any direction is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

God bless,
Matt

I've replaced the whole knuckle before with a jy one but that didnt last too long..

I would suggest picking up a new bearing 28-60 bucks depending where, inner and outer seals about 20 bucks each, and search for local machine shops in your area. Call a few of them and ask what they charge for pressing a bearing..once you find a decent price start pullin the knuckle and take everything there.

Get Timken bearings and seals. Shouldn't cost you more than $50 at Autozone.

You're probably looking at another $60-80 to get it installed at a shop.

The longer you drive on the bad bearing, the worse the hub/knuckle gets and it makes it get out of spec. So if you change the bearing, do it fast. I bought mine from www.rockauto.com, I got the OEM one(they might not have it anymore).

Is it 3 different part numbers from Autozone, bearing, inner seal and outer seals? Or an entire kit?

Thanks!

if you have an impact gun, a large bolt and patients, press it in yourself. Thats what me and my pop did. Order goes as follows:

Head of bolt-Large washer-bearing-hub-large washer-Nut for bolt

Use an impact wrench to pull it all together and a vice to hold the bolt head.

Worked like a charm and I saved $40

I just changed mine last weekend here is the full breakdown.
timken front wheel beaing $32 at autozone
here is the guide to replace it
http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/704
Went to the air force base hobby shop and spent $30(they charge $6 an hr to use the full shop) i got it done and since i had to take everything in the brake system out i replaced the brake pads while i was at it. So there you go.

Yeah I was just about to post this guide too haha, but I need to do the same thing, whenever I turn at low speeds their is always this sound like a frog croaking... but looking at the work involved I don't think I can put things back together after tearing everything down hahah

Its a double press for the bearings. I paid 40 bucks to get the bearings pressed and balljoints pressed in. I ended up rebuilding the whole front end

It sounds like you have a strut bearing problem not a wheel bearing problem
