How-To Instructions to Install CAI

hey guys,

there used to be a website:

http://www.brian1.net/maxima/gen4_ca..._gen4_rev2.htm

that had all the instructions on how to install a CAI. Custommaxima.com and maximadriver.com both linked to this and for some reason it no longer exists.

Does anyone know of any other website that shows detailed instructions with pictures on how to install a CAI?

Thanks so much,
gmax

Maximadriver is as detailed as it gets.. its safe to say if you can't follow those instructions you shouldn't be installing the CAI yourself.. and this is no joke

What he is saying is that the MaximaDriver.com instruction link is a dead link (doesn't work). So where else is there an instruction web page on installing CAI?

I have it on my hard drive.

If your smart, you'll save everything that you want cause stuff on the internet disappears all to often.

A little advice. Get the 3.5" holesaw. Most instructions say 3.25" I don't know how the rest of you guys did it, but with the 3.5" the fit was snug on my install. With a 3.25", man, that must have been tight as h$ll!

thank dwap

yeah looking at the instructions it appears that everyone is using 3.5 inch, im probably going to go for that,

also did any of you guys put a lubricant on the area before you drilled the hole, i heard some ppl did and that made the drilling of the hole quicker

what lubricant did you use?

For lubrication I just used Liquid wrench.

Lube and instructions

WD-40 works too and any left over KY If you pick up a CAI from Cattman, he includes the same instructions from the websites (he gives credit to the guys who put together the site). I wish I knew that the instructions were included before I printed all the pages and pics in color. Oh well Such is life.

Now is that just for the kit or can you make your own also? I mean basicly isnt it just a pop charger at the end of a pipe in the wheelwell? Would a Muffler shop make this pipe the same or what?

Yup. You can make your own CAI, DIY Home Depot style! Keep in mind all the little details, like making sure the pipe is securely connected to the MAFs, the small extra pipes that goto each head, the small opening under the CAI tube that accommodates one of the sensors, etc. It's do-able, but do your homework beforehand.
