Crank, no Start. Replaced fuel pump already..possible alarm problem

Ok,

So my father changed his gas filter and for some reason disconnected two tubes that go into the airbox area.

Well now it does not start.

we took it to a mechanic and replaced the fuel pump..i think its a issue with the alarm.

is there any way to varify if its the alarm.. We disarmed the car and still no start,

It keeps cranking but wont turn over. the battery is good.

Did you recconnect the tubes? Unplugged vacuum hoses will cause your problems...

Also what year do you have?? If it was a 99 w/ the awzum NATS then it wouldn't crank if it was an alarm issue...

A chip in your key that's matched to uhh ecu I think, but either way if there was a problem with the NATs i'm pretty sure the car wouldn't crank at all.

Anyways, I'm out of bright ideas. But this does not sound like unique incident, there are dozens of threads with the same exact problems you're having, I would try another search.

Sorry for not being any better help .

If it's cranking then there is no problem with alarm system. If the starter is over 10 years old, like mine was, remove it and have it tested. i recently went through something similar. http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generat...ike-champ.html

Lesson learned is, if your starter is more than ten years old and you have starting issues there is a good chance they are being caused by the starter. Had I know that the starter was so (relatively) easy to remove I would have gotten it tested.

Incorrect. NATS has nothing to do with the starter circuit.

NATS == Nissan Anti Theft System.

Does the security light stay on with the key in the ON position?

Are you using a 'real' key, or a hardware store duplicate?

It may be in lock mode, try the reset.

Failing that, you're in for a tow to the dealer for reprogramming.

As has been said, if it cranks, then the alarm has nothing to do with it.

However, if you're referring to getting out of NATS lock mode:

Any answers to my other questions, or...?

Possible it could be a CKPS or CKPS Ref sensor as well. Are you sure the filter was not put in upside down? It should only allow flow one direction.
