Hi,
I was having alot of trouble getting off the bolt that holds on the UDP. I need to remove it to put on the one I got from Unorthadox Racing. I even tried with air tools and 120 pounds of pressure. Still wont come off. Is it reverse threaded or anything like that? Is there another idea to go about when trying to get it off?

Thanks

120fl-lbs won't do it...you'll need somewhere in the range of 150+ to get it off. Its really on there.

If your tools can't do that, you can use your wonderful 200fl-lbs of torque that your engine produces to do the work for you. Put a breaker bar on there, brace it agains the frame towards the front of the car, and crank the engine. Don't start it, just crank it. I don't recommend that though!

Please don't tell us your using a 3/8" drive to do this job?

Go get a good quality 1/2" drive and a breaker bar with a pipe on the end. That should do the trick!

OKay, the best thing to do is find a shop with tools that will help you; it's the safest way. I have friends who manage Monro shops and such. See if you can get someone to give you a hand after hours or whatever. They are usually kewl about that. Anyway, the 3/4" (powerful) impact guns are the only ones that do the trick, trust me.

I actually have to pick up a 1/2 inch because of the other one breaking and all. Hopefully it will come off soon. As far as the breaker bar, how did you do this? Was it on a lift? Because I was gonna try a pipe or what not but not enough space underneath to use it effectivly. Just curious.

Mine came right off with a 1/2" impact and an impact socket at 90 PSI air pressure; suggest you follow the directions and remove the starter though. Don't do it with the cranking the engine method.
