Help.... I have this weird burning smell in my cabin.

Help.... I have this weird burning smell in my cabin.

I had to go to the store to pick something up for my car in the snow and I had to go up the hill from my house to my destination. I got stuck and I just reved a bit and went throught the snow and got some viberation to my steering wheels with that burnt smell it smells like tranny fluid but, I stoped and put the car in N and then Back into D and drove to my destination. I got back fine. I was coming back up my hill and I had to floor it and steer left and right to get to my house and that smell was getting stronger and I saw smoke coming form my hood,besides the tire smoke. I got my car halfway on the driveway but the car is now reving high and not moving much. Do you guys think I burnt my tranny clutch packs or the tranny is in the safe mode. The color of my fluid looks pink and the fluid smells kinda burnt. I was hearing this humming and moaning noise also. I don't feel the tranny shift when I am changing gears from R to D. Any thoughts thanks. HELP

its PINK? and BURNT? well, Contamination's a bish and Driving her hard.... well.... sounds like your fluid was low and got contaminated.. id bleed her out and fill her back up.. is she stuck in 3rd gear? is your O/D light on?

The weird thing hear is the o/d light is not on and the car shifts when I want it to move in D or R or 1 and 2 and It's an AUTO. I can feel the car shift before but now It's more of a quite and not noticeable shifts when I change the gears.The fluid looks like it's on level last time I looked at It and the color is pink. I had the purge flush from nissan at 07 and a BG chemical to help it maintain. The only thing I can say Is It feels like the car is in shock mode.

If I have a non-locking diff,does that mean I have a non-LSD tranny.

im gonna assume so, and id say its a good time to do as i said before. Drop the pan, bleed it out, pump out the rest through the coolant line and replace it all with amsoil.

I think I have some sad news, my R doesn't work and my D and 2 and 1 work. I think that my tranny will need some work on it but, Is the amosil and the lucas gonna help me with the Reverse.

sounds like what happened to my 95 GLE...except i could drive it in N...but no reverse at all... reverse lights came on but car went nowhere...sounds like a shot tranny to me...although i could be wrong...

Ok, I think I got some good news, I just did the O/D test from the Haynes

manual and I got 12 flashes. The First one Is a revolution sensor circuit, the second

one is the Throttle Position Sensor. The question that I have Is what Is the

revoultion sensor circuit is and what has to be done to get that problem fixed thanks.

ok, I just drain out aout two qaurtz of tranny fluid and I filled It back up. I have the TPS and a REV sensor out on me. I had some hard shocks and kicking when I am giving the car gas in D,2,1,. I checked my fluid level it's ok and I just also put my car in R and I get this kick and I have to rev it to 2000-3000 to get my rev working. My fluid level holds and there was no internal leak,so I just get no pressure and no creeping back words when It's in rev as I would get in the D,2,1. Is the REV sensor and the pressure sensor and the tps will help me with the rev. thanks.

I drained all the 5 quarts and I did not see any metal shavings. The fluid was light brown to dark red rasberry. I got multiple codes and I got Nissan and Aamco to look into it and they said it Is a internal problem when It came to the R. I am sure the codes I pulled It's all linked to the valvebody and the multiple sensors. I was looking around for a new valvebody or at least get a rebuilt because of the R gear and the other gears that are acting weird and I have mutiple codes. The FSM says the pilots and or the other valves that are stuck open or closed Is gonna cause me problems with the gears functioning properly and the sensors. The question here is the line pressure selonoid that's responsible for my reverse not pressuring the the drive plates or the gears to push me backwards. I noticed the car goes into reverse and the reverse works when the car is cold and I just started the car? Anythoughts about how and why the reverse works when It's cold.
