they r plug and play i had blue 2 but white is better http://www.ebay.com/itm/4pcs-T10-194...ht_2210wt_1270

It doesnt say the beam angle though. If your using LED's for your gauge cluster you want a very high beam angle(280* or something similar) to avoid hotspots. Look at me talking about LED's lol Chrisman and other hustlers would be so proud

Those bulbs along the bottom of the cluster use NEO5-X (5mm) LEDs

lol, silly guy! you cant have more than one type of ac on at a time! he cant do feet only + head only + feet and head!
EDIT: figured id upload my pics from todays project. did all leds in the switches. also converted over the bulb behind the [on] on the cruise control switch, and the led from red to blue in the security.
heres what i used for the cruise control and the security light. I did blow one up on the cruise control since the little switch kinda touched the wrong contact... hard to explain...
here is the rear window switch from my 99. started life as a tiny 1mm flat square led. converted it over to the 3mm dome. the closest surface contact and the diagonal one behind it are the only two you need to use. the ones of the right and left are for the square leds with two diodes in them.
heres my super solder skills on the main window switch... looks like factory huh!?
and heres the top of the main switch

Finished the LED interior...got her all buttoned up again.
^^ Center console (Radio with white LEDs+blue bulb covers=nice faint blue backlighting)
^^This stuff is GREAT!!!!! For changing the clock color. None of that cello paper crap LOL
^^Blue filter from LEE Filter media shown above, in radio display
^^ Slightly darker blue filter from LEE media shown above, in clock.
Changed out shifter LED from the bright blue to a less-bright white. Goes better with the subtle-blue of the radio. Mee likey!

To make certain, ill need two pieces of red filter to turn the clock red correct?

If you sent the stuff to me I'd consider doing it for you. You just won't have door lock or window access until I send 'em back...unless you have (or want to buy) a spare set, and just swap 'em out...
That goes for you too, VQ'er, if you're interested, I might be able to help you out on that as well, but I won't be around the org after tomorrow (out of town for a few days)...

Anyways, help me out on what? The clock I can do. I could use your help on the rear window switches.
#184
I think I have a spare set of rears laying around. If not, Ill have to pull em from a jy. And yeah Ive got the leds.

read through the LED threads, you'll find all you need in them. Nobody's going to post a spoon-feeding guide, sorry.
I'll give you a hint: Search for a thread started by TIGERSHARKDUDE, called something like LED Interior write-up, or find one of his posts and look at his signature and click a few of those links

What I found with the LEE filters is that once you get a deep enough red to match the rest of your red leds, then the clock isn't visible at all in daylight. Even with the 'clock always bright mod'. I haven't dug back in there to try out some lighter red filters yet.
(And I'm doing his LEDs in the next couple of days, gonna give him some reds for his clock/climate too, but I gotta go back to the place and get another sample pack, since I gave someone else the reds I never used...)
#193
That's the problem with red, for sure. Hell, even with my blue ones it sometimes gets glared-out. I'm thinking of going back to white for that very reason...then again, I've got clock on my HU so no real worries though...

Part of why I haven't gone back and replaced the filter is because my clock doesn't hold the time anyways

Just did my climate control
Just did my climate control... Anyone ever found any direct fit LEDs to replace the weird slim green 5mm LEDs? Can I just shave down the lens on a standard 5mm?
I like the look of the LEDs in there, but the brighter light has made it ever more apparent that my cool---hot slider has a bunch of cracks in the coloring, letting unfiltered light through. Any ideas how I could reduce that? I was thinking sharpie, but that's so low-tech.

One more thing...if the brightness gets to you (and it probably WILL, with the indicator LEDs) I HIGHlY recommend getting some white-out that has the brush applicator, and brushing white-out on the lenses of the LEDs. The white will not effect the color coming out of the LEDs (I did mine blue, see below pic), but will mute the brightness down a bit.
