TPS help
Yeah makes no sense that a new TPS goes bad in one week. Did you just screw out the old one and screw the new one in and plug it up? If so, you installed it incorrectly and that's why you have the code for it stored.
brought to the car to a tuner shop.My afc wasent reading any throtle,it was just 0 and the car was running like crap.He said it was the tps changed it ran good for a week and then the same damm thing happened.Doent make much sense to me that this is happening out of no where....any help would be great because the cars goin back to him this week. Its running so bad got to tow it down to the shop now.
If that doesn't help you are going to have to check the continuity of the wires going between the TPS and the ECU. Excessive current draw is about the only thing I can think of that would kill a potentiometer (what the TPS is). If it comes down to checking wires, make sure the red and white are not shorted to ground.
Another thing to look at is the actual voltage on the pins of the TPS once you get another working one. Make sure they are in spec. The red wire should have 5 volts, the black should be ground, and the white is the signal. The FSM recommends that you monitor the voltage as you depress the pedal and make sure that the response on the sensor is linear. The voltage should increase as you press the pedal down. It's on pages EC-128 to EC-133
JWT ECU ehhhh? Didnt someone jus start a thread on that mod and its merits. Coincidence?? idk man.
Either way, if its the TPS then something def is fryin it. Go back to stock and see if that helps.

yea i will try it out but the jwt ecu has been in the car for a while now so it wouldent make sense if it was doin it now.I think the shop screwed up the wireing maybe cars on its way down there now so we see what happens in the am.
