squeaky belt or pulley

ok so I cant figure out which belt or pulley is sqeaking but when I turn the car on with the AC , or just blowing air in general , the car SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEECHES and I mean so loud that little girls at the bus stop are covering their ears as I drive by because it pierces your ear drums. the car doesnt shake or anything its just screeching and it only happens for about 15 seconds and then stops and comes back randomly , what could it be? is this a common problem?

Sounds like you need to put a little more tension on that belt.

No it isnt fcuked up. You just need to tighten the belts. Will solve your issue no matter which accessory is whining (although it could be the alternator).

You need a better belt, Good Year Gatorback Alternator belt. Top of the line belt made for your Maxima, no screeches, screams and annoying sounds. Install, secure, tighten, drive. Knock on a wood.

Tighten your belt! If I remember it should be tightened so that there is 10 pounds of resistance on the belt and would only deflect a certain amount at 10 pounds of pressure from your finger or a fancy measuring tool.

But anyways try tightening your belt, I am positive that its just loose which always causes that screech. Before you spend money unnecessarily on a new belt.
