Ebay Header Kit with Y Pipe

Anyone have personal experience with any of the ebay header kit y pipes?

I only want the y pipe, but heard that you may need to weld a 5mm extension to it, to make it work that is.

Anyone?

If I might make a suggestion. When you get the headers make sure they are straight. I had to take the front one to get machined. Its not fun. I have the OBX ones.

Wow, that one is more expensive than the one I was looking at.

The one I was looking at is around the $120-$180 range. I only need the y pipe.

there is a 97% chance that they dont line up with eachother right out of the box...

Specially if you buy it as a kit!

I wouldn't buy a y-pipe + headers and only use the y-pipe. Unless its meant to be an oem replacement like warpspeed, catman (I think) and budget.

The y-pipe was designed to fit with the headers and might not play well with the stock exhaust headers.

itll work tho, iv read lots of people doing that, I just bot the WS for $200, because im to lazy to install headers on 3.0 engine when it would be next to pointless.

the only ebay brand that i ever had personal experience with that actually fit perfectly was SSAC. the last 3 or 4 sets of ebay headers+ypipe that ive worked with required some crazy modification. even when we used the headers and ypipe together, they didnt even line up. so i personally have lost faith in all of them.

Were you successful with just installing the ebay ypipe and the stock header?

I don't understand your last sentence. It only worked for a month after?

No. I think he's trying to say that buying the header/y-pipe combo worked out in the end because a month later, he was able to install the headers.

ok, the reason the y pipe was installed first was time. when i had the time to spare i installed the headers. the brand im not quite sure of but i do have photos of them in my garage. the last sentence; its just a figure of speech butter is slippery and shoe horn help you fit in small places. sooo... if you have a civic you can put a 350 in it with enough butter and a big enough shoe horn.
oh and the y pipe had no leaks and performed well. but the headers were not just gonna sit in my apartment. they had to go in.

I don't think the collectors of any of those headers are made right to incrrease performance they all seem to be polished up stock heaaders without pre cats but that's just my opinion.

Just get a Warpspeed Y Pipe and call it a day. Spend $199 and know that it will fit right.

Warpspeed or Cattman. Do it right the first time and never regret it.

just installed the cattman headers, y-pipe and fastcat. Cattman claims he the only one that really makes headers for the maxima that just bolt up with no modification whatsoever. Whether its true or not is a matter of opinion. They are not cheap either $800 for a set. Cattman also claims 20HP gain from his headers. We'll let your own personal dyno test be the judge of that. I personal trust Cattman because he has been around awhile. I bought his catback exhaust 5 years ago and it still is going strong. Dont bother with his website...been out of date for about 10 years but give him a call...great guy to talk to and very knowledgeable with the maxima.

Depends on whether it's on a 4th, 5th, or 5.5 gen max. Gains will differ. And Cattman is currently the only brand with perfect fitment.

Cattman makes headers? I thought they only make ypipes and back to the muffler?
