What are the bulb #'s for the light bulbs in the instrument panel? Also how many are there, and where can I buy them? My friend put red bulbs in his 240sx and it looks nice. I want to put blue or bluish-white bulbs in my dash. I think it would look good on my white gauges.

Should be able to buy them at pepboys or autozone or auto shop.

The stock ones in the cars already >>>

have a blue coating on them... I couldn't find a good "blue" color available... I tried Purple too but the colors looked bad... i tried most of the VIP mood ones...

the ones in the instruments are 194, as are the ones in the door light. The one in the key light and the ac and stuff are really small, not sure what number but i really doubt there are any color bulbs in that size. I couldn't find a color i liked so i just painted all my bulbs. Just regular krylon paint. Works fine, lotsa color choices, and real cheap Just make sure you coat the bulb evenly.

yup, get the hyper whites...bright color. bluish white..big improvement over stock bulbs. I've got all hyper white except for one super orange (got it with my clear corners =) )lighting up my gas gauge---it serves as a reminder to slow down for me sometimes...gas is expensive

Dash

You gotta drop the column down by removing two 12mm bolts. I neglected to do this and cracked my black cover......oh well, only I will know.

Did you guys leave the blue covers on your new bulbs? I put GE 'blue' bulbs in there and used the blue covers in addition thinking it would be more blue.......they kind of look green.... I'm thinking of switching to Hyper Whites or Xenon 194's instead.

Or I wonder what if I take the blue things off the 'blue' bulbs?

Blue *****... err... bulbs

I bought mine at a local Pepboys, I forget the brand name but they are turning sort of purple and it looks kinda nasty. I left the blue little covers on except for the gas gauge and now it looks just like a white bulb that's dimmed. It doesn't look blue at all.

And I've only had them in for about 3 weeks.

I'm thinking about putting in red bulbs and seeing how they work out.

Thanks

Hey, thanks guys.
After hearing all your inputs, I think I'll try the hyper-white. ...or maybe I should use different colors for each gauge?... I'll try hyper-white first.

Greeeeen.

I replaced my bulbs with blue ones last week and wasn't too happy with em. They looked pretty cool, but visibility on em wasn't that great. I figured that it was stupid to "upgrade" something for looks and then have it harder to see, so I went with a green bulb and maaan. It looks just as good and it's much easier to see. Looks like the LCD displays from the a/c & clock.

I thought that they were just some plain orange bulbs and I got some more orange bulbs to put in my dash. The bulbs I bought didn't look that good so I took the orange ones out of my blinkers and put them in...much better.
