Raced a Corvette and WON!

Actually, he wiped the floor with me, but nobody wants to read a story about a maxima get beat...

My brother was visiting me for the first time in a year, and I was showing off the Max. I was at a light and this 2001 Corvette pulled up next to me. It was late, we looked at each other and grinned.

When it went green (me fully expecting to become his *****) we both set off. I was level with him until we got to 30, then he just pulled and pulled and pulled. I hit 60 and he was 20 cars ahead. Being a sportsman, I signalled my defeat by turning my headlights off for a second.

It was all light-hearted and it was an interesting change from continually thrashing cars that underestimate the '96 5spd Max...

I need another 100hp.

yea I've had that happen... some old dude in a nice car thinks I'm trying to race cuz I pass him... *sigh* i mean dooood even I'm not stupid enough to race a Ferrari F550... The guy weaves in and out of traffic, nearly causes a few accidents-then slows down... then I pass him again... need I repeat?

I've raced two older 'vettes. One was a mid-70s 'vette. It was an old guy and we did a rolling start. I redlined every gear and could not pull on him and neither could he. That was the most even race I've ever had. He was alone and my gf was with me. She told me that I pulled a little on the 2-3 shift but I doubt it.
The other race was against my friends 91 'vette. He's done some mods and runs 14.12 quarter mild with an auto. He kicks my a$$ everytime, its still fun though.
