which swap should i do? de or dek?

nvm im so caught up in this i forgot to think about google images...duh. its the one thats one the egr guide tube. the dek came with it already there. will the plugs match up de to dek? or do i actually need to swap it? thanks

ok so i got the engine, trans, hoses, shifter linkage, exhaust, driver axel, starter etc all hooked up today, all i have left to do tomorrow is radiator, pass axel and hook up harness. fill her up with fluids ...spin the crank a few times by hand and hope for the best. im hoping for success but if something wrong ill be back on here tomorrow so wish me luck haha

So....the motor started up first try......I turned he crank like 10times by hand to move he oil around a bit....primed the fuel a few times and it took like. 8 se ones but turned over....juri forgot to hook up the brake booster so it idled high. Hooked it up and all was good....thegave it some gas and it boged then died so I bought...oh crap. Maf. Sensor lol so I hooked it up and it wouldn't start....reset the ecu and still nothing...gave it some gas via pedal and it started and idles at exactly 1000 rpm ....I have to find a small vac leak that I can hear and it should idle fine aftr that. On cold starts like this morning...I have to feather the gas for like 10seconds and it wont die after that so long story short is banks for the help! It runs smooth do far but ill be back with more questions im sure

Congrats on finally getting it finished man. Once you get it in and started the first time you realize how simple the swap really can be. But like anything, the first time you do it, it can be overwhelming.

pretty much yea its just more of a replacent, but why go de when you can spend just as much if not cheaper, get a motor with less mileage, better gas mileage, and more hp for the same amount of work??? haha

I buy the DEK for liek 300-400.. sell the 00vi and make back 200$. I think 200$ for an engine revision is pretty good.

Actually its running great man. I haven't got the money to get the wideband/ safc2 etc yet to fix the a/f but its still running pretty good. I just got back from Va beach so that's 4.5 hours one way and it ran like a champ all the way.
Not to mention. It got 27 mpg on the way down and 25 on the way back in the wind lol. And I deleted the swirl valves so I don't notice anything...but top end I can feel it.its smoother for one. But I can't wait to get it all tuned and what not.
