trunk remote

I am interested in trunk remote. Since I have a lever instead of push button for the trunk, I think I need a solenoid plus relay for the trunk in order to do a trunk remote. The question is if I can go to the junkyard to get an OEM trunk solenoid, if that is do able. Or is this not worth the trouble like the automatic temperature. And I guess I need to install a push button switch to open the trunk from the cabinet. Thanks for the help.

I should have included more info. I have an aftermarket RS alarm with aux channels. I am thinking about remote trunk but mine trunk is manual pull release.

my brother had a no options gxe.. when he had his viper responder installed, he added an aftermarket pull type solenoid added to the factory cable. Worked like a charm.

It sounds like a mod direction. I am curious how much work it is going to be. Most importantly how the solenoid is installed if it is not OEM. Does it require more parts and etc. I have done some searching and still doing searches. Anyone has more info on this would greatly be appreciated. Please only related to Max 4th gen b/c of the solenoid arrangement, alignment, location and additional parts for 4th gen trunk. Thanks.

If yours is not a manual release then you can tap the purple/yellow in the kick plate. With an aftermarket alarm, use an aux if you don't have a dedicated trunk remote button.

they made them stock with a trunk release so i think all u need is the parts from one that has that option and swap them over an program the remote u could prolly get all the parts from the junk yard
