front end noise

This is on a 99 infiniti i30, 113k miles.
While driving between speeds of 20-70mph, there's like a slight growling noise...from the driver side it sound like.
As the speed increases so does the pitch of the noise.
Turning left or right doesn't change in sound either, neither does different road conditions.

And this happened all of a sudden...any idea's?

growling, or grinding? if it starts to sound that way when u hit 20mph, then it's something that rotates...

I have a lot of Idea's but you need to be more specific. Is the noise coming from the wheel on the drivers side? or Do you do you think it's coming from the trans on drivers side? Jack up the drivers side spin wheel and check for wheel barring play by shaking the wheel up and down that would be a start. Take the wheel off and inspect the caliper make sure It's in good working order and not hung up. Inspect the axle well your down there grab the axle close to block of the trans and check for play in the barring by doing the same thing you did to the wheel. Look at the axle seals check for leaks and check trans fluid. Good luck on finding the problem this should give you a start.

thanks. i can't pinpoint the sound.
it it coming from the driver side.
like i said 20mph and up you hear the noise.
the faster you go the higher the pitch.
and when your turning left or right the noise doesn't fade or get louder and this happened all of a sudden.

and i can add to this.
the car sat in the garage for 2 years.
and i don't think they started it up till recently when they decided to sell it.
and it has 17 inch wheels. nothing too heavy (they're enkei's if that helps)

Rusty rotor(s). Resurface and pads. My best guess. Also could be bearings, but it would be worse on a right turn.

i noticed no change in sound when turning...well it does'nt start till about 20mph, so imagine how crazy i would look taking turns @ 25+ mph.

on the highway i tried to move the steering wheel back and forth...that didn't work.

well. last night i jacked the car up.
the axle was tight and you could spin the wheel barely but i somewhat heard the noise.
this morning it was even worse.
i'm just gonna replace the bearing.
