help! another crank pulley failure

99 max 231k, replaced the original that snapped in two with a used one from an inmate on here in August. lasted 4500 miles. the symptom this time was loud belt squeal. the outer pulley walked down into the power steering belt.
asked before, but can these be welded solid, eliminating the failing rubber adhesive?
better, can they be re-bonded with any success?
dont want to buy another used, poor success with that.

Your last sentence says it all.

Find a new one/low mine one off a 00-01. See how much they are at the autopart stores.

As much as I dont like them, an underdrive pulley is one-piece and would be a permanent fix. Ive heard stories about them killing motors due to no vibration dampening, but unorthodox seems to work with no problems. Failing that Ive hear aftermarkets are made by Dorman and sold thru some stores. AZ, Peboys, ETC..

Had my pulley fail. Seperated. Went with I think it was OBX underdrive pulley. It was cheaper than a new oem dorman one.

Maybe you shouldn't deal with "inmates" from the forums!
