oil Drain plug stuck

Tried to change my oil this morning and could not get the drain plug off with any type of wrench...had Pepboys change the oil last time. Wondering if any one else had this problem...or another way of taking the drain plug out? I added a little bit of oil in the meantime since I'm driving up to Somerset and it needs to get changed badly...should I just change the filter until I can get the oil drained?

First off -
Right = Tight
Left = Lose

Make sure you're wrenching in the right direction.
Use a 6 point socket with a 1/2 drive and put some muscle into it.
A quick blast with an impact gun will also do the trick.

No impact gun, been trying with the 6 pt and various drives on it...ive already started to chip off the bolt head so not sure how much more muscle its going to take...

I'd take it to pepboys and tell them to take it off since they put it on. Do not let them charge you. Make sure you tell them the torque spec is 22-29 ft. lbs. Maybe then they'll use a torque wrench.

Don't use impact. Attach a breaker bar at the end of the wrench will do the job, the longer the easier.

Go back to pep boys, find a plug and tell them to change it. I agree cash, noone touches my car but me. Letting another man work on your car is like letting another man **** your wife. (not my quote, but thought its appropriate)

Take it to the shop before you strip that bolt. That way if they **** it up anymore you will not have to pay for their mistakes.

Pepboys did the same thing to my friends car because he's to last to change his own oil and it ended up costing him 60 to fix is just try a breaker bar
