Ebay Motor mounts FTL

Not sure if I am the first to rant about them or not, but anyways I picked up a trans mounts and front (passenger side) mount just so i could keep my stock mounts out for a week while I fill them with 80 Shore Poly from MC Mastercarr.

If you plan on using these ebay mounts as a replacement, don't even think about it unless you wanna spend some time modding them.

The trans mount didnt line up right at all and I had to drill out 4 new holes on the mount to line up with the inner fender, not to mention that the hieght of the base for the mount is about an inch short so I had to use washers to be able to bolt it down!

The pass side mount didnt come close to lining up (pic below)

I had to use a dremel and cut a longer groove so it would bolt down...

To end my rant, don't buy ebay motor mounts unless you want to mod them to fit.

/rant

I the only mount I bought from ebay was the passenger mount but the only thing I had to do was use the washers to bolt it down.

Im starting to believe that ebay and metal parts dont mix at all...

Thanks for heads up Pirate man.

Im thinking bout replacing my mounts too. When i brake or accel, i hear a light clunk or pop that sounds like a worn bushing metal contact. I have repalce LCAs and end links so im thinkin its the mounts.

Sounds like you got a manual trans mount instead of an auto.

That only applies to front and rear mounts. the trans mounts are different.

Exactly. My experience too. Forget those good looking deals on various hard parts you might come across on ebay. Not only are they poor quality and misrepresented, the sellers take no responsibility and ebay doesn't care.

If you need a part that takes a lot of effort to install either use a Nissan part or an aftermarket brand with a good reputation for that particular part. If the Nissan part costs double the ebay part, with a few exceptions the Nissan part is a much better deal.

Of course you can find good brands on ebay, but you won't find those for screaming deals. In fact, on ebay they are usually more expensive than from reputable businesses like Rock Auto, or even a local store like Advance Auto Parts.
