Adding fog lights

I have a 99 GXE and would like to add stock fog lights. Are the wires already there and all that needs to be done is bolt up and plug them in? Also, would I have to change my light stalk/switch or are they all the same?

GXE may not be pre-wired. You DO need a new stalk. I posted in a thread about it recently...let me look back into the history, BRB

here you go, on the 3rd page of this very forum:

http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generat...s-97-99-a.html

You need the lights, bulbs, relay, stalk, and wiring (if not prewired)

I just found it.

http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generat...s-97-99-a.html

I need to check my car to see if the wires are there. I am hoping Nissan saw the economy of not having multiple harnesses and just used one harness for all of the cars.

The wiring is there. I have a bead on 99 SE with everything I need. Hopefully Saturday I can pick everything up.

You could just hook up an aftermarket harnesses/switch. They're generally pretty cheap.

I found a a guy selling the bumper support with the lights attached. I would just take off the lights and attach them to mine but it looks likes the bumper support that's on my car (not the original) has the bracket bolts broken off inside of it and I really don't feel like drilling them out. I plan on taking the relay, fuse and the stalk from the SE as well.

You could install an Aftermarket kit from Pepboys for less than $80 and that's including larger guage wiring.....the 4th gen Foglight hole is huge and you can fit any aftermarket lamp and bracket in that space without a problem!

I was referring to a vehicle. The car I looked at at that time needed too much work to be budget-friendly.

I like the 4th Gen Oem Foglights, but I thought the OP was having money trouble and couldn't afford OEM.....That's why I suggested aftermarket.....It's cheaper and if you know what you're doing it will look nice and be just as functional as OEM as well as be different from the other 4th Gens.....I've alway thrown all the wiring in the trash that came with aftermarket foglight kits.....and installed larger guage wiring and protected the lense with with A Laminate film.....Rice is when crap is just thrown together to get what some I.D.10.T. thought was a cool look or cool sound! My Hella fogs have been on my little D21 DD for at least 10 yrs now and they're still kicking.....

Just saw this on Ebay, figured I'd share, as I too would like to add OEM style fogs to my 96 GLE

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1997-1999-NI...item2a1459d9eb

The ones above state they are for light assembly only.

These are for the pair, and include the brackets as well.

Here's some OEM ones complete minus harness & switch

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nissan-Maxim...item3cc10d8290

Not in my budget at the moment, so I figured I'd share the info for those that are ready.
