What's highly recommended 4th gen maxima

I havea 1995 maxima 5sp want to build it to get the maximum HP out of it but still being street legal or other word if it ain't street legal I'll still have it as a daily driver .. Lol but my question is what's recommended on these vq30's the ( Super Charger) or (Turbo Charger) and how much it would cost together everything done for this altitude inthe state of UTAH. Also just to add this is my first maxima I own since I was previously into the Honda world but got sick of worrying the civic I owned would get stolen or getting pulled over every weekend for the littlest thing. My friend I bought it from had rebuilt the whole engine and have a mechanic put it in about 8 months ago he went thru all that money and time when he blew the stock motor with a 100 SHOT of N.O.S and he replaced it with one off a 99 maxima but he him self couldn't get it to run right do to idling problems Ive also have some problems with bad idle cause some vacuum lines but I been going to the junk yards and looking at others to see where they go but any how that's what how I bought it and little problems I been fixing . BUT IF SOMEONE KNOW ROUGHLY HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST ME TO BUILD THIS MAXIMAAND WHAT YOU RECOMMEND GETTING IF THE SUPER CHARGER OR TURBO PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

Alot of Money $$$$$......There are plenty of guys on the org like wizard who are supercharged.....I think your first move should be too acquire a VQ35, a 5Mt or 6Mt!
Your light a$$ 4th Gen responds well with a NA VQ35 and should be fast enough! If you want crazy fast then a procharger or turbo may be part of your recipe! $5000 should be able to get you a really nice ride!

What part of Utah are you from? I'm in the SLC area.

I'd shoot for a VQ35 and swap it in. You get a lot more power for the money. The mod list is bigger with the VQ35 as well because it's a much more common motor.. I think Nissan uses it in about 5-8 different cars. lol If the 3.5 N/A isn't enough power to get you tingling you could always supercharge or turbo it. That should be more then enough power.. If you can find traction.

Since you are new to the Maxima and the Nissan scene feel free to PM me. If you live in the SLC area there is a bunch of Nissan guys I could introduce you too. All of us are willing to help out. We do weekly meets and tons of yearly events; track days, dyno days and much more.

yes and no.

altima is not rear wheel drive. Both have the motor.

There are some differences with RWD and FWD motors. Same with a SR20 fwd VS RWD.

But back on topic. You want to aim for FWD VQ35DE, which are on 02+ maxima and altima. You could get one from the quest minivan as well. There should be others but i know many people get them out of altima's.

I have a VQ35 in my G35 but the setup is diffrent, i know my manifold for sure is diffrent but i think there are coolant lines and the way the trans mounts up that wont work in a FWD without tweaks.

A stock VQ35 from an 02-03 Maxima is 255 at the crank. With proper mods and tuning, you can reach 300 to the wheels on stock cams. It has been done.

The 6 speed from the Altima SE-R or the Sentra SE-R have a limited slip differential, whereas the 02-03 Maxima's 6 speed was optional.

So my guess quests would be the on off the Altima se-r since it has the slip differential so it can help with the snowing weather here in Utah

Right now I have the stock 5sp manual tranny but I have a question can tranny be converted to cable instead of hydraulic in my point of view
would be better that way we don't have to go thru the hassle of bleeding the clutch and worrying the slave cylinder going bad and all that

Hydro is way better than cable. Get a 1 piece stainless line to ease bleeding and you couldn't ask for a better set up.

I'd get a supercharger. It would look really cool sticking out of the hood, or with the hood removed completely.

Spoonfeeding FTL

IMO, nothing beats FI, nothing. No customization with a SC kit, just install and go baby go. Street legal in all 50 states. $1500 - $2000 and you're done.

And OP, here's some periods and commas, since apparently your keyboard is broken.
