K2 Motor Intake

http://www.k2motor.com/95-99-nissan-...ir-filter.html

Came along this website today and they look kind of legit...I don't wanna buy a CAI because i'll be turboing my Max this year or EARLY next year.....but for $43 or let's just say $50? This can't be too bad...Anyone try these? What do you think about it? Yay or Nay

Are you looking to get some sound in the meantime? Just cut up your stock box.

You're not going to get extra power from an actual SRI.

You can actually just remove the entire lower box and zip tie the filter to the top half of the box if you wanna make it simple.

My original set-up I just took the top part of the box off so the air scoop could stay connected and just sat the cone filter I had almost inside of the box. It honestly probably got more cool air that way then without the scoop. Really want to put that scoop back on. Only if there was a way to modify it to make it better....

I think thats the common shape they sell for the 4th gen "CAI". It looks to be almost a shorter version of the Injen with just cheaper piping and not a good section where the hoses connect....and a cheap hole for the IAT that probably leaks like a ****

It's a fenderwell CAI. Nothing like an Injen.

It'll give you some growl but I don't think it'll be as loud as a SRI or CAI.

Its not that bad. You can make your own from a simple 6" piece of 3" tubing they sell at every auto parts store. Then you can get decent silicone couplers that dont slip off. I was going to get this one: http://everythingcarparts.com/95-99_...ake_Black.html

Best I can tell is the filter would sit almost in between the front bank and the battery just a bit lower. Not bad, I would get it just for the piping and hack it up to my liking. Get 2 of these: http://www.fullybolted.com/catalog/p...fhu=3439323230 and I like the stock accordion style coupler that connects to the throttle body itself

Its honestly not a bad set up especially if they kept the snorkel connect and plugged up the bottom of the snorkel where it connects to that random box. I would never leave hug zip ties visible like that though ugh. Should have just got some clips from home depot motorsports

You gotta do your homework. With a fenderwell CAI, the filter actually sits in the lower fender. You have to drill a hole next to the battery so the filter can sit in there.

That were they want you to put the filter with that kit? I know what you are talking about but I didnt think that one was the one I linked. It has the pipe where the hoses connect, the the next one looks to take a 90 degree turn towards the rad and then down. I have emailed them twice asking for a legit picture but nothing in response. Probably cant speak english

Trust me, that's where the filter sits. I ran that set up for a short period of time.

That K2 pic is deceiving since its laid out wrong. It looks like a typical CAI to me. Too bad the couplers, MAF adapter, and most likely the filter are all junk. Whats the point of buying that kit if within a year it all needs to be replaced?

Oh and its out of stock......
