P1402 ???

hows everybody doing ?
i need a little advice on this issue i have...first of all let me start by saying that i have never had any issues with my max until about a month ago when i put sum lucas in the gas and ever since then i have had 3 ses pop up within a month....first was the cps which i changed then the ses went off and all went back to normal....then coil #1 went bad and i replaced it and all was back to normal....now i have a P1402 ses code...i also put sum chevron techron in the gas about 3 weeks after the coil change to try to stop the bucking at lights while stand still....i dont know if its coincidence but 3 lights in 1 month after putting that **** in my gas.....i never believed in putting anything in gas because i have heard that it causes issues....i recently did all the plugs and pcv valve....i started using 93 octane again and i take care of my car very well.....this P1402 code says my egr is either stuck open or the temp sensor failed...i dont think my egr valve is clogged because i had it cleaned about 2 years ago at the dealer for free,,,,does anyone have any suggestion on which problem it could be ? is the egr stuck open or is the temp sensor bad ??? and if the egr is stuck open is there anyway i can get it to open and close again on its own without removing the egr.....and can i clean the egr with seafoam thrue the vacuum line ??? im really not trying to remove the egr tube and clean it ...like all of use here i dont want to do (or pay for) guess work....any input would be greatly appreciated....thanx...

im just taking your word that the code you have is EGR related like you said

step 1: remove the egr temp sensor and clean is since that is the easiest to do. if that doesnt fix it refer to step 2.

step 2: take the damn EGR off and clean it. a dealer cleaned it for free for you? unless it was under some extensive warrenty, that seems fishy. and only way to know how clean it is it to clean it yourself.

the dealer cleaned it because they thought it threw a ses light about 2 years a go but it turned out to be the egrc selenoid sensor so they didnt charge me labor for cleaning the egr tube....im not looking forward to tackling this job....code is P1402....anyway to clean the system without removing ? maybe seafoam in the vacuum line ?

first was the cps...
then coil #1 went bad...
now i have a P1402 ses code...
...P1402 code says my egr is either stuck open or the temp sensor failed.
How the hell is fuel additive going to affect a CPS or coil?? There is a how to for cleaning the EGR (plugged tube causes a failed sensor code I believe). Your car is 14 years old, If you've only had three CEL's your doing pretty good.

If your EGR was stuck open you would sound like your running on 3 cylinders at idle. Do you have an FSM? It would have a test procedure for the sensor.

not quite, you can easily scrape a bong, carbon deposits become rock hard from the heat of the engine. i had to replace my egr tube cause it was so clogged and rock solid inside, but i like the similarity.

I pulled one off of a JY car and took my time cleaning it. Waiting for when mine gets clogged but when I put the spacers on it really wasnt clogged and I had never cleaned it before

he egr tube was cleaned about a year and a half to 2 years ago so i hardly believe its clogged...im thinking that from the fuel additive or from replacing the pcv it spit a lil carbon into my egr valve....the only question is whether the egr valve is stuck open or the temp sensor is bad...this ses came on after i was late for work and didnt warm up the car and sped off to work at high speeds...lol.....besides from the ses the car runs fine...and if the ses wasnt on i wouldnt know anything
