Trunk latch stuck and key won't open

I've had the truck latch stuck many times and the resolution was use the key to open it and release the latch.

But this time, the key won't turn.

Is it the cold weather, or maybe some WD40 or usually squirt dry graphite into where the key goes.

I would try the wd40 first and when you get it open again you can further investigate what the problem is. GL.

Metal expands in the cold so locks freeze up as well as our parking brakes. If the car sits in the sun for awhile things should free up.

My trunk latch stopped working a while bck and I found that my strike plate was warped (I don't know how, never been rear ended) but I had to adjust it and it started unlatching properly. That's just something to take a look at once you get it open.

Yeah, tried the WD40, wasn't till I got soem de-icer and lube squirt in there, that the key turned.

Had to manually move the latch up at the bottom, done this a few times,
surprisingly just WD40d the latch first time now

One thing I need to pass on, is to regularly lube all key entry points, as they hardly ever get used now, with all the remote openers.

Thanks for all responses.
