nagging issue

ok guys so my starter started going out so I replaced it with a BRAND NEW (not rebuilt) starter well it was working great then one day I went to start it and it didn't engage but the starter kept getting power and spinning (not engaged) even after I took the key out so I unhooked the battery and sent the starter back got a different one thinking it was a started issue well I got it in and the very first time it did the same thing except I unhooked the battery and when I hooked it back up it didn't start back up, since then its been working fine until today I went to start it and it didn't keep running it stopped when I let the key go but it was spinning and not engaging I tried again and it worked does anyone have any idea whats going on... last thing I want is to be stranded

Hmmm. Clean your ground points. If you didn't have a problem before you replaced the starter, get a reman or used starter. I don't trust anything that isn't factory for a good reason.

Ignition switch could be it, but the starter still getting power to it is a curveball. Especially after the key was out. Sounds like there might be a short somewhere in the ignition system.

Well, a relay is always easier to replace than ignition switch. Haha. Hopefully it solves your problem.
