Bearing On Other Side Of Input Shaft?
Hey, can someone please tell me what the other bearing is on the input shaft in the RS5F50A 5 speed transmission is? I took my transmission apart and bought the input shaft bearing thinking that was it because the symptoms were the same and it's a common problem, but my input shaft bearing is fine. It's the bearing on the other end of the shaft, and I can't find it outside of a complete rebuild kit.
The part number on it is 28BC08S1, and it is a Nachi. Is there a specific name for this bearing? Can someone tell me where to find it, and from a reliable source?
It's number 126.
Thank you.

do you mean a place to find it like, besides the Nissan dealer?
141 is the input shaft front bearing and 126 is the input shaft rear bearing...
you could also get it from a bearing supplier, but that's more trouble than it's worth most likely. i priced every bearing in the transmission in the trans at a bearing supplier back years ago and the only that made sense to get anywhere other than the dealership was the input shaft front bearing from the RS5F50V (VLSD version of this trans).

Yeah, i would buy the rebuild kit,but i cant afford it, as i had to also replace the clutch and pressure plate, and will have to replace valve covers, water pump, and brakes after the trans. I'm going to call a local bearing supplier tomorrow to see how much it is, but they do have it.
Thank you for your reply. But in your opinion, should I return the front input shaft bearing, or go ahead and replace it too? It doesnt grind or anything like the rear one does, but I honestly don't really want to have to go back into my transmission. But I'm also strapped for cash and could put the money somewhere else.

you can buy the bearing individually from the dealer. you don't have to buy a kit (in fact i didn't know they had "kits" at the dealer, never heard one mentioned before and I've rebuilt a lot of these transmissions always using dealer parts except that VLSD front bearing as i mentioned before).
i would replace the front bearing. that bearing is the most susceptible to abnormal wear in the trans, if the rear bearing was worn out the front bearing was surely seeing loads it is not designed for, and is probably compromised.

I had to buy a full bearing and seal kit. My other bearings were pretty shot as well, but gears and synchros were alright. (surprising since previous owner ran gl-5 in it, and was a few quarts of gear oil low when I drained it)
But i bought the bearing kit from American Powertrain Warehouse. All oem manufacturer bearings and seals for $123 shipped to my door.
Thanks for the suggestion on where to buy though.
