why would you run yer indiglo's to your fuse block?
Unless u want the gauges to glow day and night or playing with the switch between day and night.

Just wire those indiglo's to a 12v source that only gets power when you turn the lights on at least 1 position. Anyways that's what i did to my indiglo pedals and to my intelliglow needles.

Btw...does anyone else not appreciate the fact that the intelli glow needles don't shut off all the way with the dimming switch they come with?...the lowest it goes to is shutting off everything except the small single LED (for me its the fuel gauge).

l8er.

I got both items from eBay, the gauges were exactly from the same eBay seller DCmax linked you with, he should have some more up for auction, but be make sure which ones you are buying because there are 2, 95-97 and 98-99. For the Intelliglow Needles, they won't pop in a search for a Maxima, unless you just type in "needles maxima" and they are supposedly for 95-97 only because they have white needles, but could possibly be used on the 98-99 if you have white needles and not orange, but the orange needles can be sanded on the bottom to make them clear and white out could be used to make them white. They are just LED's that go under each factory needle for those who are completely clueless. The gauges ran for about $40.50 shipped, and the needles were $85 shipped, both were Christmas gifts from my girl. To install the gauges without having the needles sticking, I used some regular elementary school gluestick, lol. Worked perfectly. To install the needles, you need to go to Cheston's site, www.maximadriver.com, to see the accurate details. He also has how2's on the gauges and needles install. Hope you guys find this info helpful. By the way, I too had regular Indiglo gauges, and I'm also happier that I have the Reverse ones. If you haven't yet, please check out my homepage and sign the guestbook if you want, but 56k users beware, I have a lot of pics on the 1st page as well and the 2nd.
so the 95-98 SE reverse indiglo gauges will fit on a 98 GXE??
i called up the place that distributes the reverse indiglo gauges and the sales rep told me that it wouldn't fit on a GXE, only a SE..
since u have a GLE and it fits for you.. did u have any problems installing it?? like did u have to drill any holes??

Did your needles get stuck at first, right after you installed them? I just put mine on and my r.p.m. and speedo needles get stuck. Please help.

I really hope they are wrong. When I bought them, nothing indicated they wouldnt fit on a GXE. I have a 96, and I dont see how the SE cluster is that different from the GXE cluster except the white background on the gauges.

the difference from se and gxe/gle if i understand correctly is that the screw holes are correlated differently

i dont know bout the screws, but the gauges are diff for 95-96 and 97-99, mechanical odometer for the early ones, digital for the later ones, thus they arent the same

So have you, any body actually put them on a 96 GXE? The fuel gauge on my 96 is pointing inward(toweards the other gauges), not outward(toweards the door)like I have seen on the SE.

No im actually looking at them right now. Im waiting for my indiglo needles to do the install but increasing curiosity might lead me to try it tomorrow afternoon. From just a quick visual inspection, the reverse gauges looked to be the exact same as the gauges I presently have.

This ebay auction $33.50 + shipping

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...ndexURL=0&rd=1

Maybe I have a strange GXE, someone go outside and tell me if the gauges in that pic look identical to their gauges.

The fuel gauge is on the left side in are cars but I don't think that makes a difference. And I was fairly sure that the FG was faceing the other direction, but I may be wrong.

your supposed to take out the screws when putting in the overlays.
if not they will brush against the needles.

Yeah all individual gauges are singular units with plenty of slack on the wire, it doesnt make a difference. Well hopefully not, I havent installed mine yet.

Cuz mine go only up to turning all except the fuel single led gauge.

thanks

The whole process took me about 2 hours.
two hours thats not bad at all.thats a good idea to wire the indiglo gauges to the factory dimmer switch.so the dimmer that the indiglo needles come with doesnt shut the needles off completely? then why not just splice that in to the factory dimmer also? and whats this about drilling a whole in the gauges? shouldnt the wholes already be there?

Yea 2 hours because I wanted to be precise with removing the needles and making sure there weren't any loose wires when I replaced the cluster. Both the needles and gauges came with their own dimmer switches, but I set them both to high and only wired the gauges to my factory dimmer because I wanted to have access to needles and gauges being bright, and sometimes just the needles being bright without the gauges. I decided not to hook up the needles switch to my factory dimmer switch because I felt like at night I would always need to see my needles so I just left them at their brightest setting. Some reverse gauges have the whole already drilled into them like mine and DCmax's, I guess some dealers on eBay sell the ones without them.

Yeah I have the same switch you have. Benblanco had a different switch for some reason. When you get yours in Id like to see some pics - Ben and I have been discussing the fact that his gauges have a pinkinsh tint and mine has a deeper red, although we ordered from the same place...hmmmmmmmm.

The switch I got with mine don't have blue/green. It's just a standard dimmer switch. My red's are red not pink. Although the dimmer was connected poorly to the wires...just soldered it back on..no problem. I got these from ebay for a 95 GXE. I hooked it up to the fuse box with the rear lights...so they only come on when i turn on my parking and/or headlights. I didn't want to do any kind fo wire splicing. no problem at all. only problem was with the screws but like i said, i drilled holes in em and it works fine. Too beautiful to look at. everyone stares with awe
