Putting in a Push Start Button in My 98 Maxima the issue that I am running into is the wiring to the ignition and which wire is what.

The unit is a Pivot the wires that run form it are 2 blue and 1 red.

 

are the three wires marked like b+, ig and st? Its been a while since I did mine but I remember the st wire from push button will have to be tied into 2 wires at the harness. The ig wire will connect to the harness wire that is 12v when key switch is turned to on position. Then the b+ will go to the largest wire that is always 12v.

 

This is the diagram for the unit I have.

 

I would do it this way:
Blue wire from push button tapped into white purple.

Blue wire from push button connected to both the black/white and red/blue wires. Cut and cap the side closest to switch don't just tap into them.

Red wire from push button tapped into white/blue.

It looks like you should also have a wire for ground from the push button probably black.

 

I'll give that a try. Thank for your help this is going on day 3 driving me crazy also dose it make a referents between a A/T and a M/T.

 

Question I have 2 blue wires you said one goes to white and purple. The second one to black/white and red/blue. I take it the r/p and r/bl connect to the single blue wire after they are cut?
