1995 Maxima Misfiring (CEL ON)
Hey everyone, I own a manual 1995 Maxima. I've owned it for quite some time now and its been a headache ever since.
I have read the engine codes to the best of my ability and have two codes showing that I could make out.
1005 (EGR Solenoid)
and 0304 (Knock Sensor)
I don't know if either of those two are the cause of my problem. My car is missing and I believe it to be coming from cylinder # 1. The coil pack has been replaced with a new unit. With the car running I have disconnected the coil pack to cylinder 1 with no sound change.
There was a short period of time where the misfire disappeared and then decided to come back.
My guess is that the injector is dead on cylinder # 1 but I would like to hear your opinions.

If it is Cylinder #1 injector might i recommend changing cylinders 3 and 5 injector as well. Saves you the trouble of pulling off the upper IM again if those other 2 injectors should start causing the same symptoms (ask me how i know lol)
The knock Sensor could possibly be a piggyback code, i replaced mine multiple times but the code still comes back. They are inexpensive on eBay.
Not to sure about the EGR solenoid, i would just recommend cleaning EGR guide tube and other accessible, safely cleanable components of that system.
Hope this helps.

EGR solenoid is easy to replace, clean out EGR guide tube as suggested. Your gonna have the manifold off anyway so might as well do it while your there. Get new gaskets just to be safe.
