my tach

ok i bought my new max bout a month ago and the tach has been broken. i mean the needle moves but it doesnt read correctly. i can be driving along and it bugs out and the needle goes wild. what could be the problem. will it cost alot to fix? can i fix it myself?

I've seen that problem on a motorcycle. Generally what happens is the cable comes unscrewed from the back of the gauge pillar and is barelly touching. So when its loose, the conection is weak and wigs out from loss of contact.

If your tach is toast, I have an extra one from a

97-99 that I'd sell. Make me an offer. I suspect it will also fit the 9-96 also.

Do you have aftermarket Gauges ? Cuz I had the same problem when I put on my Indiglo Gauges and then it went away after a while.

i dont got aftermarket tach. but whatever if it costs more than 100 to fix ill just buy a tach shifter light thingy thing. the one that u mount on ur dash. i dunno what the hell its called.im soo ****ed but i mean i got my car for one hella bargin price i paid 6000 for a mint and i mean mint 96 se custom paint job. the guy had to sell it cause his wife poped out twins and he had 2 already. he was rich as hell. i guess he could afford losing money

that it will work. Mary_S12306@YAHOO.COM I'm sure you'll be much happier with a true tach, then a shift light. You'll know when the shift-time is approaching.
