Maf question
Hey guys I was replacing my starter and could not get the connecter off to the maf to save my life.. So I took off the four screw to were the maf bolt to the box .. Well I pulled it out and know I got p0100 code for it dam .. I was wondering if it solder inside I did not see any on the pins ? Anyway check all vacuum hose seem good but the car starts idols and give it gas and dieds ... Wtf any help would be nice thanks
You are not supposed to remove the screws. You broke the solder joints (and possibly the PCB inside). You can try to fix it by removing the square cover (cut through the sealant and pry off) and see what you broke. If you are lucky you can resolder the terminals, then reseal the top.
Assuming you have a 1999, you need to press the green lock in to release the connectors.

I usually buy 2 then bring home, clean, and test in the car. I try to keep an extra MAF in my workshop for when one fails. DO NOT BUY A USED AFTERMARKET MAF. I tried one once and it was bad. I think that may have been part of the reason that car was sent to the junk yard. You can tell by the label if the MAF is OEM or AM.
Also for every 2 used MAFs that I get from a junk yard, I find one bad one. Be sure to buy from a yard that has a return or refund policy and save your receipt.
Also, we may have a member in the classified area selling a tested/used MAF.
