Transimission going?

I drove ebmorgan's I30 last night, and his tranny is WAY smoother than mine.

With his, the shifts are nice and smooth, with mine, they are pretty rough.

I'm also feeling a lag when I floor it before the car drops down a gear. Sometimes, when I floor it, it doesn't drop a gear at all until I let go of the gas and then punch it again.

Are I30's different than Maximas in the tranny department, or do I have tranny issues? If I do, how do I know for sure?

When was the last time you changed your Transmission Fluid? Maybe try switching to synthetic.

Worth a shot. Helps everything slide better in general. May make the rougher shifting change gears easier.

Hahaha.

I let my Dad drive it once last summer on the freeway...heh.

I'm doing my 60k tuneup next weekend, and putting in Synthetic.

Will that solve the problem?
