in my experience it doesnt matter what model number the ecu is as long as it is from the same year car and its for an automatic. So if you dont find the same ecu, you can use the a different 99 maxima ecu. I once used a 98 maxima ecu on a 1997 maxima and the only difference was that evap code popped up but everything elese worked flawlessly. So for example I found one ecu on ebay that has the model number starting with 8Z but the other numbers are different A18 J60 E5S. This is the closest ecu you will find online probably. Heres the link and its from an Infiniti I30 1999 which is the same car as the maxima http://www.ebay.com/itm/Infiniti-I30...BnZHLQ&vxp=mtr Also make sure if your check engine light is on before you start the car and if it is on that means your ecu is fine and you dont need to waiste money. If the check engine light does not turn when you turn the car to the on position before you crank it, check the engine control fuse to see if it is ok. Other than that i thought my ecu was bad at one point and it turns out it wasnt bad at all and its really hard or rare or these ecu's to fail.

$289?? Lol.. i have one wayyy cheaper then that. And it does matter what ecu you put into your car. And evap code popped up u say? Lol means your car isnt running flawlessly could be cause you put wrong ecu in.
