trunk torsion bar removal?

trunk torsion bar removal?

is there a certain way to remove these?

yes, but dont. The truck is heavy as hell. I've thought about converting to struts in the rear. close the truck slightly and bend them off the hooks.

i removed mine for weight reduction and it didn't work right with the carbon fiber trunk.

You removed the torsion bars for weight reduction? they can't weight that much. Can you tell me how to remove them? Did you cut them?

I cut mine when I did my CF trunk. Planned to do struts but parted the car out.

I pulled mine out using 12" tongue pliers. I cut the bracket off the trunk hinge using a stone grinder with the dremel tool. Support the heavy trunk with a stick or the trunk will fall on you when you remove the torsion bars.

I installed high torque struts to open the trunk. Here's a thread that gives details.
