Rockauto Closeout rear strut - Got slightly different parts

Rockauto Closeout rear strut - Got slightly different parts

I ordered 2 rear struts (Monroe 71293) on closeout from Rockauto.

I got 2 slightly different struts - one made in USA, one in Belgium. They look a little different. The part number of one is "71293 I ST" The other is "71293 ST". The bar codes on both are identical.

Is it a good idea to have slightly different design strut on the rear - the left and right will not be identical - though both are from the same Manufacturer ?

I doubt it will make a difference. My OCD hates that kind of stuff however.

Yup meet too. How hard is it to replace rear struts (have tools, just bought the spring compressor) ?

It will be my first time attempting a strut replacement. (so far - I have done things like brakes and drive axles - which I consider very easy to do - Intake manifold removal for accessing fuel injectors - which was moderately hard - and a timing belt for a 99 Nissan Quest which was hard as I had to do it 3 times to get it right ) - so is this an easy or a moderate job to do ?

Anyway, if they don't look that much different, there is most likely no problem in using them. Did they both come from the sane warehouse? Rock Auto is a drop shipper. Nobody directly employed by Rock Auto is involved in packing, shipping, etc. Rock Auto finds a warehouse that has what you ordered, sends them a RA-generated label, and the warehouse does the rest. Most of their wholesaler closeouts come from Ultra Power in Sugar Land, TX. Their site is surplusparts.com

If you decide to return them, get quick struts instead

It only takes about 15 minutes per side. A strut assembly is very easy to swap out; working with the springs and all that is the harder part. Some parts of the interior trim in the trunk will have to be removed but it is a very easy job. The rears were easier than the fronts and the fronts were not difficult (assuming that you aren't fighting a ton of corrosion).

I put them in anyway and they seem to work fine together.
Took about 2 beer to swap.
