Hey all,
My 1997 I30 is not moving from park when the brake is pressed. I have read online that this could be the shift interlock solenoid. I am having a hard time finding the exact part needed. Anyone know hat part i need and a link. I can still drive the car because I can push the plastic tabs with a flat-head screwdriver.

There a relay in the shift console you’ll find it next to the solenoid they usually will be first to go before a solenoid goes

I'm dealing with the same issue in my 96 Maxima. It was mostly fine through the summer with warm weather but now as it gets colder it's worse, the other day I had to go through the motions 60 times before it worked properly. Although I had cleaned it before I cleaned the metal solenoid plunger with no-residue electrical cleaner which did improve things, was able to get it to work after a few tries on slightly sub-freezing weather. In the summer I actually grabbed a solenoid from the salvage yard but after unscrewing/unplugging everything I could find I did eventually have to actually cut a wire to remove it which is why I haven't tried to replace mine yet. I'm not sure if this is the case with our cars but on a forum for some other make someone with a similar issue was told they couldn't buy the solenoid separately but that the whole shifter comes as one unit. Carefully watching the mechanism it appears the issue is you press the brake and the plunger moves forward, but as you press the shifter button the plunger does not continue forward as it should.
