hey 2007 maxima wont go from park to drive and then started drive back to park,brake lights working never checked fuse no relay sounds in cabin then all off sudden the issue became intermting and as of now is working fine for 1 whole day. I purchased shifter selenoid and brake switch a total of about $100 but dont want to just throw parts at it. Anybody know what would make this problem intermitting? i have about a week before i can return parts.

 

Maybe a "shift interlock solenoid"?

You already replaced that though.

You may already know this but right next to the gear selector is a small plastic cap that pops off. It's the shift lock override. You can use a small flat blade screwdriver to press down the override and put it into park or drive.

Check where the linkage connects to the transmission. Doubtful, but it could be bound up. Check the relay first.

Then I'd look into doing some tests and seeing if the shift interlock system is malfunctioning

Maybe get one from a pull-a-part for like $10
