Exhaust Gasket P/Ns ... ?

I’m going to be removing my Warpspeed Y-pipe and reinstalling the OE mid-pipe.

In doing so, I’m wanting to replace the manifold-to-mid-pipe metal “O” gaskets as well as the mid-pipe-to-converter gasket.

But, I’m honestly having a hell of a time finding the correct gaskets with confidence as there are a number of apparent options and several of those that seem to be correct just don’t look correct.

Do any of you guys have proven correct brands and P/Ns.

Thanks in advance.

‘99 Fed. Spec. manufactured 03/99.

Nissan has it but, I forgot the part number, I am sure its still available. I just checked the nissan parts website, I dont know why they are not showing up on the site but you can find it at the dealership in person.

These are what I ended up ordering.

Looking at the Walker, Felpro, Rock Auto, Courtesy Parts and Nissan Parts Deal catalogues as well as the FSM, it’s still absolutely not clear, but we’ll see.

These all “look” correct.

I went on the nissanpartsdeal.com they didn't have the o-ring gasket showing up on the diagram but they have the other gaskets showing up with the pictures and the part numbers. I will tell you the pics they have are not helpful or reliable.

See what I mean?

I still have the the original metal manifold-to-mid-pipe O gaskets and I’ve been using those to steer me in finding new ones. But in all of the listings and graphics I’ve reviewed, there are at least 3 variations available and it seems that the descriptions and applications for those don’t clearly match the originals.

I know this may seem like one of those, “who really gives a rat’s a**” topics, but this kind of owners and enthusiasts being steered in several directions kinda thing just drives me nuts.

Like I said, we’ll see.

I know what you mean. What I did when I needed these parts was call my local Nissan dealer and provide them with my VIN. Then all the ambiguity was eliminated and he provided the proper part numbers to me. Since these parts are relatively cheap, it made sense to order from my dealer rather than price shop on the internet and get stuck with shipping charges. Let us know what you find out.

Never even thought to do that ... 🙄

Just out of curiosity. why are you removing your WS y-pipe? Did you just get over it?

The Y pipe, in combination with the exhaust I run, results in a sound I’ve never loved. I’m continuously changing out silencers depending on my mood in a given month and it’s still not a note that makes me especially happy.

Also, I’m a very modest and conservative driver and I’ve found that, based on my driving style, the performance and feel of the car is diminished with the pipe in place.

I recall neither of these being an issue of complaint prior to my install of the Y pipe.

So, yes ... I guess I’m just over it.

I assume you are looking for these. I have two different sizes here. I believe you want the smaller one for the 4th gen. The large is 5th gen when they switch the exhaust manifold.

The one at the cat. There is one other part number but either should work.

Not to that extent.

The Megan cat-back stays put.

For future reference, the Felpro and Walker parts listed above do appear to be correct.

The Felpro manifold to mid-pipe flange gasket:

With laying this piece in place, there is a little side-to-side/up-and-down play as it lays in the pipe’s flange groove but I’m thinking that, as the gasket is crushed under pressure of tightening/torque, that wobble will go away.

The Walker mid-pipe to converter gasket:

My only complaint re: the Walker piece is that graphics/photos shown related to some part searches show this gasket having the metal center ring. But as you can see ...

I already have a y-pipe and have been looking at cat backs recently. It looks like Megan is the only "decent" brand left. You wouldn't happen to have any sound clips of the y-pipe + megan combo right? most sound clips i have listened too are from years ago and would love too hear how it sounds tbh.

I can certainly create one.

I’ll likely be spending time in the garage this weekend.

I can help with that, I have the warps y-pipe and the megan catback combo. I can send the video of the link to your txt or phone voicemail.

Nice system except the mufflers are too small and it's quite loud to my taste! Anything under 22" is a waste! Megan's resonator and rear muffler are 14"ers! Cute but loud and dronie....

These are the reasons for my routine change-out of silencers and now my removal/replacement of the Y-pipe.

It’s just a little loud for my taste nowadays.
