Sporadic Gauge Failure.

Hi. I have been having some problems with the gauges on my 99 maxima that I recently purchased. At first none of the gauges worked accept the tach. So I purchased a new used gauge cluster, cleaned and inspected it, mad sure the screws on the back were tight, mad sure the connecters were clean, etc. I installed the cluster, and the gauges all worked and were acurate. Then I hit a small pot hole and all the gauges ether dropped to the bottom or, rose to the top. After shutting off the car and turning it back on, and letting it idle for a little while the gauges returned to normal. I have also had the same problem happen when the car had been sitting in my drive way. I started it and the gauges where not working, again letting it idle for a little while made the gauges return to normal. Any thoughts on what to look into next? Thanks for any help in advance.

I'm sure a speedometer shop can fix the fuel quantity and coolant temp gauges issues. My speedometer, fuel, coolant all failed on my 4th gen. I'm not sure what really fails inside the gauge assembly.

A bad ground would cause all the gauges to react that way.
