Did a bunch of maintenance on my 1997 maxima (new fuel injectors, fuel filter, fuel pump, valve cover gaskets, vacuum/coolant/heater hoses, etc.). Well I accidentally took the coolant hose that comes from the intake manifold and runs to the bottom side of the throttle body and put it on the hose from evap (purge valve that runs to the charcoal canister in the back by the gas tank. Finished the work, it started up great, drove to gas station and filled the tank up then drove. After about 40 miles (so 45 miles total driven) temp gauge started shooting up. Pulled over and had coolant pissing out the very back rear of the car l drive side past the gas tank. The charcoal canister. Swapped the hoses around, filled back up with coolant and now it cuts out when going from a stop. It’ll drive fine at speed, but once I come to a stop then put my foot on the throttle it starts to cut out unless I give it enough throttle
Should I drop the tank and dump the gas cause it might have got contaminated? Or should I drive the gas tank down to E and put new gas in it? Drives fine at speed, it just cuts out and stalls if i don’t give it enough throttle when accelerating from a stop. When doing the maintenance I put in 6 new OEM fuel injectors, fuel filter and fuel pump, and spark plugs along with other stuff since I didn’t know when they were last done. Car has 248,000 miles.
So I pulled fuel pump and looked in gas tank and looks fine, no sign of water/coolant. Replaced canister, canister vent control valve, cut valve, and the evap purge valve on top of the engine with ones from the junkyard. Also put a bottle of berrymans B12 in gas tank. And put half a can of seafoam deep creep into intake via the brake booster hose. It doesn’t stall out from a stop every time like before, but still does it if on an incline/hill. Should I just try and drive up and down the highway to burn up the rest of the gas tank?
