Can u put a head unit in the accessory slot?
Will it fit?
I am talking about the space just above the ashtray and below the normal stereo(a double DIN unit).. It appears to be big enough for single DIN unit, but I don't know if it is deep enough...
I want to add my RioCar(EMPEG) to my existing non-BOSE stereo. I would convert the speaker outs to RCA and input them into the Rio for CD and radio functions and send the RioCar out to my amp..
If it will fit, I will be happy
Thanks

As for the RioCar, if you want one new you better buy it now from http://store.sonicblue.com - They got some more in and will sell out forever soon.. 30GB is $400 +S/H and maybe tax.. I got my 20GB for $325 shipped Some people got 10GB units for about $225 shipped..

Not sure aobut the BOSE...
But I have installed my deck on the bottom near the ashtray, in the middle, and on top.
A deck can go in any of those three slots.....and you can move the trays accordingly.

Two screws on one side and two more screw on the other side. Take the tray out and install the din radio with the screws you just took out. Hmm...how about this?

Well thanks, I guess. Anything else you might want to add to that?

This was my experience with the different slots. The one on the bottom seemed to be just a little narrower at the bottom. When I got my car it still had the original head unit, single DIN, w/the storage cubby below it. When I was replacing the head unit I tried to put it in the bottom slot and the storage cubby in the upper one. The head wouldn't really fit right in the bottom. So, I think it is a little narrower at the bottom. Just thought I'd throw this out there for you.

he is right, the bottom is slightly narrower... you could file the sides a tiny bit if your HU doesnt fit. many people use this slot for their stereo when they add a screen in dash in the upper opening.

Or maybe the Sony's are slightly narrow?
